Trends Are All about point of view

When I began applying to graphics internships in January, I did not believe that I would be working for a small, Chicago based purse designer. After all, my only goal was to acquire experience in graphics, not acquire a fashion degree. Yet as we shift into spring as well as talk of patterns begins again, I have seen that little companies have a distinct point of view which I have discovered to really appreciate as well as love.

Everyone likes trends. We’ve all seen the ads as well as may have even viewed a fashion show or two. however they are called patterns for a reason- they’re only ‘trending’ for a moment and then they’re gone! There are a few that never go away (florals in spring, layering in fall, nautical in the summer) but, for the most part, trends are fleeting.

Knowing this, one of the reasons I’ve delighted in working for Brynn is since little companies have the (fun) difficulty of differentiating their bags from both each other as well as larger brands.

We are currently in the process of updating Brynn’s site as well as in going to the sites of other purse designers I’ve discovered that every designer has their own unique silhouettes that distinguishes them from other companies, both big as well as small. (Below are a few of Brynn’s classics, in a few of my preferred colors). Yet keeping with patterns is not the little purse designer’s focus. You can discover work in graphics in just about in any type of business, for we do online in a technological age, however the little business’ commitment to individualism as well as producing its own unique ‘trends’ is certainly something you can’t discover anywhere else.
