Let’s not pretend this is anything a lot more than what it actually is: earlier this week, Karl Lagerfeld threw his Chanel artist dinner at Balthazar, which is something he does annually as part of the Tribeca film Festival. At that event, a large swath of Lagerfeld’s harem showed up, all sporting flawless Chanel bags, which were maybe passed out at check-in. (We’re just guessing, but it feels true.)
